So you are thinking about buying a home in paradise; well, the Latin phrase caveat emptor ---buyer beware--- was really meant for those looking for real estate in Roatan. Maybe it's the humid air, or the tropical breezes, but Marci has more energy and spunk than the Energizer Bunny! We did our homework, spending days on various web sites, narrowing down those properties that fit out objectives& We e-mailed Marci with these prospects and with both their local knowledge, further weeded and whittled down our list. We then scheduled our trip and one should allow for a full week to be able to see everything and to also give you a couple days to enjoy your future home. Marci met us at the airport handled everything from the baggage to getting us settled in at our vacation rental even helped us get a rental car later in the week From dawn's early light to dusk Marci never left us until we had seen every inch of the island and had seen every possible property fitting our criteria. OK, but what if you find your dream home or lot Marci guides you through every twist in the road during the negotiations process. Her affiliation with Gustavo (one of the few excellent local attorneys), makes preparing offers, mortgages and title work a breeze. You see, everything must be in Spanish first, and then proper translations are made into your native language. But it doesn't stop there after you are settled back into you couch at home Marci is still working your deal. We had her established with our Power of Attorney so she could execute additional documents related to our purchase. So, now you might think that is all Nope. Paying folks down here is not that simple. Unless you carry thousands of dollars in you belly packs, you must wire funds to Marci because she will make those escrow payments, or draw payments, or tax payments, or local contractor payments, you get the message? Paying for all the incidental payments in Roatan is a pain Marci helps you make this happen as painless as possible. As you can tell, we could not have bought our piece of paradise without her. She is a joy to be around and her infectious energy will keep you excited and assured that she will make everything work out. So, is Marci just a real estate agent by a long shot!"
