Where is French Harbour?
French Harbour is located mid-island on the south shore of the island of Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands, 40 miles north of the mainland of Honduras in the Caribbean Sea. Nearby is the community of French Cay. Both French Harbour and French Cay are traditionally English-speaking communities. Just to the west of French Harbour are the Spanish-speaking communities of Monte Placentero and Los Fuertes.

French Cay boasts numerous attractions such as Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Park, Arch’s Iguana Park and Little French Cay where you can purchase a day pass and enjoy the beach along with a small zoo.
How do I get around?
French Harbour is 8 miles east of Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport. The road is well paved and well maintained if you choose to rent a car. You can also hire a taxi.
Where can I stay?
Pristine Bay Resort and Las Verandas Resort offer accommodations. There are also numerous home rentals available nearby. The Clarion Hotel is located in French Harbour.
Where can I eat?
Inside the Clarion Hotel is Herbie’s, a sports bar and grill that will remind you of Buffalo Wild Wings. French Harbour boasts Ikigai, an Asian fusion restaurant run by Robbie Molina, who has been recognized as a Top 100 chef in Central America. Gilei’s is an American-style café located upstairs from Ace Hardware. French Harbour also has fast food options, including Papa John’s, Wendy’s and Bojangle’s fried chicken.
