Where is Sandy Bay, Roatan?
Sandy Bay, Roatan is on the north side of the island of Roatan, the largest of the three islands of the Bay Islands of Honduras in the Caribbean, about 40 miles north of the mainland. It is five miles north and west of Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport.

Where can I stay?
Anthony’s Key Resort is one of the original resorts on the island. Blue Bahia and Real Kings resorts are also located at Sandy Bay. Numerous home rentals are also available in the neighborhood.

Where can I eat?
Ankor Seafood Grill offers gourmet options at Anthony’s Key Resort and is open to the public. The Beach Grill at Blue Bahia offers a variety of specials each week. J&O Steak House and Dragonfly Sushi & Fusion are located in Coral Stone Shopping Mall and Chichiguite serves local island fare.

Things to do?
One of the most popular attractions on the island is the Dolphin Encounter at Anthony’s Key. Carambola Botanical Gardens offers 40 acres of jungle hiking trails and a curated look at the flora of the island. Numerous dive outfitters line Sandy Bay Beach ready to take you into and on the water.

How do I get around?
The Island is easy to navigate by car, but please drive the roads in daylight before you drive them at night. The road from the airport to Sandy Bay was in the process of being resurfaced during the summer of 2024. Taxi service is available, and some resorts offer transportation to and from the airport.
