Fishing

Fishing in the Bay Islands

After a full day fishing, picture yourself back at the lodge, standing on your private dock watching the sun slowly sink into the horizon. Overlooking the scattered young mangroves, you see many of the local bonefish tails twinkling in the fading light. Arising early, and as the sun peaks over the lush mountainous terrain, tailing bonefish are there to greet you once again on the turtle grass flats at your feet. Joining the bonefish in the deeper sections of the flat, you catch a glimpse of the swaying sickle-shaped dorsal fins of feeding permit. You know this will be another day to remember.

For the non-fishing guests, Roatan has plenty of adventurous things to offer. The diving and snorkeling excursions in Roatan are some of the finest in the world. Individuals can swim with the dolphins, sea kayak, visit bird and iguana sanctuaries, hike and plain ole relax on the island’s white sandy beaches.

Getting to Roatan is easy and convenient. TACA airlines operate non-stop, direct flights to Roatan from Miami and Houston on weekends and return. You can get more information on schedules and pricing by visiting our Travel Center.

We invite you to discover what flats fishing is meant to be, to turn your dreams into wide-smile, reel screaming reality. The 100-fathom curve is just a few miles offshore where marlin, wahoo, tuna, dorado and other pelagic game fish can be caught.
