Where is Parrot Tree?
Parrot Tree is located in the central part and on the south shore of the island of Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands, 40 miles north of the mainland of Honduras in the Caribbean Sea.
How do I get around?
Parrot Tree is 10 miles east of Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport. The road between Parrot Tree and the airport is well-paved and well-maintained, so renting a car is a good option. You can also hire a taxi.
Where can I stay?
Parrot Tree offers numerous home rental options. The community is gated and has round-the-clock security. Coco View Resort is also close by.
Where can I eat?
Kristi’s Overlook is a Tex-Mex restaurant located just to the east of the entrance to Parrot Tree on the Carretera Principal. Four miles to the west is French Harbour, with numerous options, such as the sports bar and grill Herbie’s and Ikigai, a gourmet Asian fusion restaurant.
Things to do?
Inside of Parrot Tree is a now-closed resort, but the beach area is well maintained and great for swimming and snorkeling. Coco View operates a dive shop that offers diving and certification courses as well as snorkel tours. Pirates of the Caribbean Zip Line is nearby. In French Cay are numerous attractions such as Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Park, Arch’s Iguana Park and Little French Cay where you can purchase a day pass and enjoy the beach along with a small zoo.
